Blue Turtle Beach is a quiet eco-resort beach on Togo's short Atlantic coastline, known for its turtle conservation program. Leatherback and green turtles nest here from October through March. The beach is less crowded than the beaches of neighbouring Ghana, with a calm, unspoiled atmosphere and local eco-guides.
November through February for dry-season sunshine, calm seas, and active turtle nesting. June is the start of the wet season — some afternoons bring short showers, but mornings are generally clear.

Togo's coastline was part of the Slave Coast, where Portuguese, Danish, and German traders operated from the 16th century onward. Togoland became a German protectorate in 1884, then split between British and French administration after WWI. The turtle nesting beaches here were used by local fishing communities for generations before eco-tourism brought international attention to the nesting populations.
