Kokrobite is a fishing village and beach resort about 25km west of Accra, popular with backpackers, musicians, and surfers. It's home to the Academy of African Music and Arts (AAAMA), which runs daily drumming and dancing classes. The beach is longer and less crowded than Labadi, with a more relaxed, community atmosphere.

Kokrobite is a traditional Ga fishing village whose name translates roughly as 'place of crabs' in Ga. The village has maintained its fishing traditions alongside the growth of tourism. The Academy of African Music and Arts, founded by Mustapha Tettey Addy, has made Kokrobite internationally known in world-music and percussion circles since the 1970s.
